State Bid Packs

Have you noticed the new state bid packs on DealDash.com?

We do not have to reside in the featured state to qualify to bid on a special state bid pack. However, each customer is allowed to win only one of each bid pack auction. I like that limit because then more customers have an opportunity to win.

I also like the featured state bid packs because each one provides interesting information about the state that I might not know. I enjoy reading and learning about the states because it takes shopping on DealDash above and beyond the usual experience. Whenever a shopping site does that, it enhances the overall shopping experience.

Let’s take a look at some of the featured state bid packs so far:

  • Colorado: Featured bid packs for Colorado include 300 bids, 1,869 bids and 2,776 bids. One interesting fact DealDash listed about this state is that Colorado Springs has more sunny days than any other place in the country.
  • West Virginia: Featured bid packs for West Virginia include 178 bids, 900 bids and 1,700 bids. One interesting fact DealDash listed about West Virginia is that it has the longest steel arch bridge in the world, with a length of 1,700 feet.
  • Florida: Featured bid packs for Florida include 245 bids, 700 bids and 1,300 bids. One interesting fact DealDash listed about Florida is that it has more beach area than any other state with a total of 1,300 miles of coastline.

Back to School Shopping

This may be a good time to do some “back-to-school” shopping on DealDash.com.

One place to start is by looking at all of the high-quality pen sets that DealDash now has to offer. So far, I won two of the pen sets and they would make any student proud to add to their “back-to-school” supply.

Everyone can always use a pen that does not skip. The pens on DealDash will write the first time, every time and are very dependable. Best of all, the pen sets I won came in individual gift boxes, so it makes the perfect gift for any grandparent to give to their grandchildren.

Deal Dash also auctions off many other items that students might need when they return to school. Below is a list of some other “back-to-school” items that we can shop for on DealDash:

  • Reading glasses
  • Watches
  • Umbrella
  • Rain boots
  • Ultra-terrain hiking shoes
  • Journal w/pen and nice leatherette cover
  • Handmade shoulder bags
  • Men’s and women’s leather belts
  • Waterproof backpack
  • Apple iPad Wi-Fi 32 GB
  • Apple iPad Wi-Fi 4G LTE 256 GB

Now is a good time for you to make a list, too. Start shopping for your children and/or grandchildren. You just might get some great bargains and make a child in your life very happy.

Win a Quality Pen

I am thrilled to see that DealDash.com now has several great ink pens up for auction.

How important is it to have a good working ink pen? To me, having something as simple as a quality pen is huge because I cannot get through a single day without needing one. Did you place bids on these pen sets yet? If not, why not?  I did, and I already won a set of 20, which I plan to give out as gifts.

Here are some reasons why I shopped for these pens:

  1. Pens are something everyone needs;
  2. It appears it usually does not take a lot of bids to win an ink pen auction, so most shoppers might find these auctions to be an easy win;
  3. If we don’t win these auctions, we might be able to afford to use BIN (Buy-It-Now) to get all of our bids back free. A few of them are high-dollar auctions but some of them are not;
  4. Pens always make great gifts.

If we look at all of the previous winners, we will see that some of them won these pens for only a few bids and low selling cost while others used a large number of bids and had to pay a high selling cost. The question is: How can we win a great deal, too? Answer: By following these rules:

  1. Watch the auctions to see what time of the day or night the best deals were won;
  2. Check to see if most of the main power bidders are already locked out from bidding
  3. Count the number of shoppers who are competing to win the auction, and if there are too many, wait for another auction.

My First Book Auction

Today was an exciting day for me. I got to see my first book go up for auction on DealDash.com.

After retiring as an award-winning journalist and writing more than 500 blogs for DealDash, I returned to a file of notes I kept for more than 50 years to write my own powerful story of survival:  Get Tough or Die: Why I Forgave My Parents for My Abusive Childhood.

I felt deeply honored when the founder of DealDash offered to add my book to be auctioned on DealDash. It is so exciting to now have my book available on DealDash, hot off the press, three months before it is scheduled to be released on Amazon Sept. 1. In other words, Get Tough or Die is so new that those who have already read advanced copies of my book are not yet allowed to post reviews. But here is a note I received today from a customer who just read my book:

(We) received your book today and DEVOURED it! Thank you for writing it! As soon as Amazon allows, I will give you a 5-star review.
    – Beth Rigoulet

This is a typical reaction to my book, nothing but rave reviews. Here are some short versions of a few more reviews I received:

I found this book very captivating and could not put it down once I started reading. It was brutally sad but also taught me some lessons to carry forward in my life. I enjoyed the book very much.
– Dawn Phillips

You are a fighter. I can’t believe you went through all that and came out such a positive person. I couldn’t stop reading your book once I had gotten started. I just finished it, and I’m still in mild shock. Thank you for writing this book.
    – William Wolfram

I really think this book is going to help people with their journey in life. This story is a captivating and very real look into the trauma’s surrounding domestic violence.
– James Rodgers

In her riveting book, Barbara clearly does not put her focus on her often, life-threatening plight as much as her unyielding determination, which inspires us all.
– Patricia Seger
