Shopping for Office Chairs

Some products that recently caught my eyes on DealDash.com are the comfortable looking office chairs. I spend a lot of time sitting in my office chair writing these blogs, books and speeches. Therefore, it’s important to me to have an office chair that is ergonomically designed to help me maintain good health, especially when it comes to adequate back support.

Most of the time I put special back support cushions in my chair to get the support I need. Perhaps if I got one of these chairs I might not need to add extra cushions. I also noticed that DealDash has more than one kind of office chair and some past winners have already received awesome deals on them. Let’s take a closer look at a few of these chairs.

A black office chair that reduces heat

This black office chair has a BIN of $640.00.

According to the auction description, it “features a breathable mesh back that promotes air flow and reduces body heat, preventing discomfort during long hours of sitting.” The comfortable 2-inch thick polyurethane contoured cushioned seat has a fabric cover (field replaceable).

So far, some of the best deals past winners received are:

  • April 15, this chair sold at $14.63 and the winner paid a total of $38.43 including the cost of the 119 bids placed;
  • April 11, this chair sold at $7.32 and the winner paid a total of $30.52 including the cost of the 116 bids placed; and
  • April 9, this chair sold at $17.92 and the winner paid a total of $49.16 including the cost of the 201 bids placed.

The adjustable height and tilt function allow for personalized customization to fit our needs, and the dimensions are listed as: width (at arms) 27.25-inches by 28.75 inches; (between arms) 21-inches by 23.5-inches; height 37.5-inches by 41.75-inches; seat depth: 18.5-inches by 21-inches; seat height to top of back: maximum 24-inches. Assembly is required.

 It’s important to note this chair has a weight capacity of up to 250 pounds, which should be adequate enough to accommodate most adults.

A mesh executive chair

These black leather, mesh and metal executive chairs have a BIN of $1,173.00

According to the auction description, this chair was designed “for high end conference room and executive seating applications.” The high back features a “graphite black leather headrest.”  The dimensions are 24.5 by 22.75 by 41.5 to 45.5 inches.

So far, some of the best deals past winners received are:

  • April 13, this executive chair sold at $13.77 and the winner paid a total of $112.17 including the cost of the 492 bids placed;
  • April 12, this chair sold at $22.95 and the winner paid a total of $$142.55 including the cost of the 598 bids placed; and
  • April 7, this chair sold at $39.70 and the winner paid a total of $147.52 including the cost of the 688 bids placed.

We can see from the examples listed here that DealDash.com is a great shopping site if we are looking for a luxury office chair at a bargain price.

The bottom line

These are just two examples of office chairs DealDash has coming up for auction. Other styles and designs are also available. For example, one of the office chairs has no arms. Personally, I prefer office chairs that come with arm rests, but somebody else might want an armless chair. If you check them out, you may find one you really like.

The Best DealDash Icons

If you are shopping on DealDash.com you will never get bored. Why? DealDash continues to create more and more auction icons to keep us on our toes. That’s part of what makes this site so much fun.

Let’s take a look at two new shopping icons I have not written about yet – the Spy Buddy Auctions and the Duel Auctions. These latest two just may be the best ones so far.

Spy Buddy Auctions

The Spy Buddy Auctions are identified with an orange circle icon that has a magnifying “spy” glass in the center.

Have you ever wished that you could see just how many bids our competitors placed into BidBuddy?  If we only knew how many bids our competitors have placed into BidBuddy, it sure would make it a lot easier to decide if we should continue to bid or if we should call it quits, drop out and save the rest of our bids for another auction.

Well, guess what? This wish has “almost” come true. The reason I say “almost” is because the Spy Buddy Auctions only allow us to take a peak for one minute once every hour. Also, if anyone has more than 500 bids placed it will show up as 500+ so we will not have any way of knowing exactly how many bids our strongest competitor might have placed.

Once every 60 minutes DealDash will reveal all booked bids for one minute. Of course, that means our competitors in these auctions will have the same advantage as we do because they will, likewise, be able to see how many bids we have placed, too.

What’s the catch? For one thing, we might be checking at 5 p.m. while another competitor might check at 5:30 p.m. and a third one might check at 5:45 p.m. In other words, we will all be granted the right to see for one minute how many bids everybody else has placed, but we will not all be checking on each other at the same time.

Another catch is that I might be down to only 25 bids in BidBuddy at the time my competitors take their one-minute look. However, I might add another 300 bids just a few minutes after my competitors are done looking and they will not be able to check again for another hour.

Therefore, these Spy Buddy Auctions could be a bit tricky to learn how to use to our advantage.

Deul Auctions

The icon used to identify the Duel Auctions looks like a maroon color circle (almost red) with two swords in the center crossed over each other in the form of an “X.”

In these Duel Auctions the auction becomes a duel between the final two bidders. At first, I was a little confused how these auctions are different. Aren’t all of auctions a duel between the final two competitors?

If I understood this right, here’s the difference:  After the “No Jumper” limit is reached, if only two users have placed the last four bids and no one else has bids booked in the auction, a 60-second timer will start counting down. After the timer ends, if no other bidders have placed a bid, all other bidders (even if they previously qualified to compete in the auction by placing their first bid before the “No Jumper” limit) will then be locked out of the auction. In other words, it’s important to be one of the bidders actively participating in these Duel Auctions as soon as the auction gets to the “No Jumper” limit.

The bottom line

Participating in the Spy Buddy Auctions and the Duel Auctions sounds like a lot of fun. Serious competitors just might be able to get their techniques down to a science and figure out how to use their shopping skills to their advantage. Are you one of them? Okay, cowboys and cowgirls, I’ll see you in a duel auction.

Skateboard Shopping

One new item on DealDash.com is a really awesome skateboard.

I never had a skateboard when I was young because they were not yet invented, but today this is one item the below 30 age group appears to enjoy a lot. However, there is no age limit, as long as you’re still healthy and in reasonable physical shape. Even some people in their 40s and even 50s sometimes go skateboarding. Most likely, it is one gift that would be a big hit with any young family member.

This skateboard has a BIN of $80 but as of this writing three of the four previous winners got it at a bargain price. According to the DealDash auction description, “this is the perfect choice for beginners.” It can handle any type of terrain and “will be able to stand up to heavy impacts from falls and collisions.”

The deck shape is “Round Pin Drop” and the deck measures 40-inches by 9.25-inches. The 8-layer Russian maple wood board also helps riders to maintain their grip on the board. The wheel size is 70 by 51 mm. The Truck type is “Reverse Kingpin” and the truck size is 7-inches.

This skateboard is “made with the best of materials and construction techniques” so it is sure to last for many years.

The history of skateboards

According to my research, Bill Richards invented the modern skateboard in 1958 but the first skateboards that were manufactured in California and Hawaii did not go on sale until 1959. Richards attached rollerblading wheels to a wooden board and called it the Roller Derby Skateboard. These early skateboards first used by surfers when there were no waves to ride.

San Diego is known as the “birthplace of skateboarding.” In 1962, the surf shop “Val-Surf” in Hollywood sold the first self-produced skateboards. While there are two main kinds of skateboards – longboards and short boards – there are different types and shapes of skateboards that include classic, longboards, cruisers and special shapes, old-school and mini-cruisers.

Alan Gelfand created the first skateboarding trick in 1973 and he called it the “Ollie.” Soon many other people were trying to copy it. The first flip trick, called a kickflip (but originally known as a “magic flip”) was invented by professional skateboarder Rodney Mullen.

Now there are four types of skateboarding – street skateboarding, vert skating, park skating and freestyle skating.

The most popular skateboard brands among professional skateboarders are Girl, Zero, Baker, Deathwish, and Enjoi. These brands are known for their high-quality decks, trucks, wheels and bearings.

Some of the most valuable skateboards are:

  1. Blowin’ in the Wind Skateboard, $38,425 in 2012, featuring Bob Dylan lyrics and signature/
  2. Lasek and Yauch Set, $35,00 in 2012, featuring Adam Yauch Signatures;
  3. Blackbird Board, $27,116 in 2011, featuring Paul McCartney hand-written lyrics;
  4. The Supreme Mundi, $20,000, in 2019, featuring Palette shape/ and
  5. The Golden Skateboard, $15,000 in 2014, featuring Gold plating.

The 10 all-time best skateboarders in the world are listed as: Tony Hawk, John Rodney Mullen, Mark Gonzales, Nyjah Imani Huston, Patti McGee, Daewon Song, Tony Alva, Stacy Peralta, Paul Martin Rodriguez Jr. and Alexis Sablone.

Skateboarding made its Olympic debut in Tokyo 2020. The competition was held at the Ariake Urban Sports Park. Skateboarding was one of four new sports added to the Olympic program for 2020 and it is also provisionally approved for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. The proposal to add skateboarding to the Olympics was approved in August 2016. The International Olympic Committee has announced that the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 will see skateboarding become a full-fledged permanent Olympic sport.

The bottom line

Skateboarding is still a popular sport, and we now have the opportunity to win a high-quality skateboard at a bargain price on DealDash.com.

Yard Decorations

Did you see some of the yard decorations that DealDash.com has to help decorate and beautify our yards this spring?

For the first time in 41 years I recently hired a professional yard maintenance crew to come and clean up my entire yard, and now it looks better than it has in many years. I can still mow my big lawn with a motorized push mower, but at age 76 there’s a lot I just don’t feel like doing, anymore, especially when it comes to climbing ladders. It was expensive but well worth it because it gave me more time to shop on DealDash, which is a lot more fun. LOL!

When shopping on DealDash, I decided to look for some outdoor decorations that might put some finishing touches on my recent effort to have a better looking yard. Let’s look at some of the items I found.

Pink Flamingo

Have you ever wanted to have a pink flamingo in your yard but you don’t live in Florida? Well, thanks to DealDash now we can. All we have to do is shop for one.

For some reason, I have always had a love for pink flamingos. I’m just fascinated with them and think they are so beautiful. Therefore, I am happy to see the pink flamingo often comes up for auction on DealDash. This one has a BIN of $2,060.00. That might sound expensive but when we consider the artistic skill given to each detail and time it takes to hand-make them, it is definitely a very valuable product. Best of all many DealDash shoppers have already won this flamingo at unbelievable bargain prices. For example:

  • March 5, this flamingo sold at only 9 cents and the winner paid a total of 84 cents including the cost of the 4 bids placed;
  • March 7, this flamingo sold at only 8 cents and the winner paid a total of 42 cents including the cost of the 2 bids placed and
  • March 10, this flamingo sold at $2.23 and the winner paid a total of $5.23 including the 15 bids placed.

The vivid pink color would make an eye-catching decoration whether it were displayed indoors or outdoors. The solid iron construction ensures many years of use. The body of the flamingo consists of rolled metal pieces with lace-like cut outs, which makes it a masterpiece that anyone could proudly display.

The finished flamingo measures 23-inches by 8-inches by 5-inches, which is smaller than some previous flamingos that some DealDash shoppers won, but it still receives rave reviews.

For more details please read the auction description.

DealDash also has a similar, but bigger, hand-made tall standing Crane with a BIN of $2,430.00. It measures 35-inches by 14 inches by 7 inches.

The bottom line

Whether we are looking for a pink flamingo, Crane or water fountain, DealDash is a very good place to shop for any of these items. Who knows? We could be the next customer to win an outstanding bargain of a lifetime. Happy spring shopping everyone!
