Luxury Shopping

If we ever want to do some luxury shopping, DealDash.com is a great place to do it. Why? We can win expensive luxury items on DealDash at bargain prices.

First, I should define what I consider to be a luxury item. If an item is nice to have but not something we need on a daily basis … or if we see something we like but we hesitate to get it for ourselves, it’s probably a luxury item.

A woman smiles as she enjoys shopping at high-end stores.
Right now DealDash has auctions for items that an give you a taste of the luxurious life!

I thought it might be interesting to look for a few luxury items on DealDash. After all, a luxury item could make a lovely Valentine’s Day gift, even if it arrives a little late.

Eye Mask

I think I found one. You might ask, “What’s so luxurious about an eye mask?” Well, this one is special and that is one reason it has a BIN of $595.00. It also features a dusty blue rabbit fur exterior with “smooth hypoallergenic silk against the eyes” on the inside. The eye mask measures 4-inches by 7.8-inches and has two adjustable elastic straps “designed to deter from tangled hair.” One size fits all, and it comes with a lightweight cotton drawstring bag that makes it easy to pack in a suitcase and go.

For me, this would definitely be a luxury item. At age 76, I have never in my life used an eye mask because I never had a need for one. I am one of those lucky people who can fall asleep with lights on and the TV blasting. However, I know people who are so light-sensitive that they might need to wear an eye mask to get a good night’s sleep. In fact, one of my sisters even brings pins and black tape to her motel room when she travels. She pins the drapes together so not a speck of light comes through and she puts black tape over the little green light on the thermostat. Therefore, having an eye mask like this to keep all the light out would surely make an awesome gift for her and other people who are that sensitive to such a tiny amount of light.

One thing I did not know is that using a mask like this could also aid in slowing the aging process by reducing the appearance of dark circles, decreasing puffiness and keeping the skin moist.

Indoor Water Fountain

Another luxury item is an indoor fountain with a BIN of $220.00. Nobody really needs to have an indoor water fountain but it could be the perfect luxury item to add to our home or office for an added touch and delightful ambiance.

I read articles saying that the sound of flowing water can have a soothing affect and give people a calm and serene feeling. It sounds like we could use an indoor fountain like this to create our own “inner sanctum” and who wouldn’t want that?

This Indoor Water Fountain measures 11.41 inches long by 8.26 wide and 9.44-inches high, so it is the perfect size to easily fit on a tabletop, desk or shelf. It is made out of durable polyresin and, according to the auction description it “features a sculpture of cascading stones nestled amongst smaller pebbles and greenery.”

It is important to note that for the fountain to work, a pump connection assembly is required with simple instructions provided. If you have any questions about that, I would suggest that you contact DealDash customer service representatives. I’m sure they will be happy to answer any questions you have. Also, if we do not like this particular water fountain DealDash has plenty of other fountain auctions coming up, both indoor and outdoor, so we are bound to find one that we especially like.

Leaderboard Auctions

What do you think of the Leaderboard auctions on DealDash.com?

I can see both advantages and disadvantages of shopping during the Leaderboard features. I have come to the conclusion that if we have our winning strategies down to a science and know how to best use the Leaderboard auctions to our advantage, we could do extremely well. Sometimes I have done well and sometimes I have completely blown it, but every time it has been a fun challenge and a learning experience.

Jump on a Leaderboard Auction today!

I thought it might be of interest to new DealDash customers to discuss some of the pros and cons I learned from shopping and observing the Leaderboard auctions.

Advantages

One of the greatest advantages of shopping during the Leaderboard auctions is the top three shoppers who placed the largest number of bids by the time the auction closes will automatically receive some bonus bids in return. The Leaderboard feature is a way for DealDash to reward shoppers who placed the most bids for their dedicated participation.

Wait a minute! Wouldn’t the customer who placed the largest number of bids always end up winning the auction? Nope. Here’s what can happen.

The shoppers who start placing bids in an auction as soon as it opens might use 200 bids and run out by the time the auction reaches the “No New Bidders” mark at $5.00. Then shoppers who waited until the last minute to place their first bid just before the auction hits the $5.00 mark could win using only 25 bids or less. That hardly seems fair, does it?

The Leaderboard feature is (in a way) an attempt to remedy that situation, and that’s a good thing, right? Shoppers usually have to start placing bids from the beginning of the auction to win the free bonus bids at the end … unless the beginner shoppers drop out and the auction lasts long enough for the late shoppers to catch up.

The leaderboard feature, however, pretty much encourages shoppers to participate at the very beginning of the auctions to have the greatest opportunity to win the bonus bids.

Challenges

One of the disadvantages of the Leaderboard feature that I see is that these auctions do not usually sell out early. Leaderboard auctions encourages shoppers to become aggressively competitive in their effort to place the most bids, get the most time on the clock, and win the highest number of bonus bids.

If you would like to “duke- it-out” with other shoppers it could be part of the excitement and fun of shopping on DealDash. However, set reasonable limits and be prepared for over-bidders. Remember that other, less obvious, events might be happening at the same time that might affect the auction we’re in. For example, DealDash sometimes offers one extra hour on the clock if we win an auction that day. Just to get that extra hour on the clock, I overbid on purpose to win the auction.

The bottom line

If we develop a good strategy, the Leaderboard auctions can reap great benefits. It appears that the shoppers who do the best in these auctions believe in diversifying. By that, I mean they place a reasonable number of bids in the beginning of several auctions with the idea they could end up with more bids than they placed. How could that be? Let’s say we place 100 bids in an auction that offers 200 bonus bids. If we used all 100 bids but end up having the most time on the clock, we would still be 100 bids to the good even if we did not win the auction.

Happy shopping everyone!

A Hot New Item!

Did you see the new hot item DealDash.com now has up for auction?

Yes, you guessed it. I’m referring to the new electric double oven range. I was surprised to see this oven range has the reasonable BIN of $1,314.00.  So what do we have to lose? If we don’t win, we can do a “Buy-It-Now” and get all of our bids back for free to use on another auction.

This is one kitchen product we might need to replace soon, anyway, so we might as well see if we can win it on DealDash instead.

A mom shows her young daughter how to use the oven.
Mnay folks would say that the oven is the most important part of their kitchen.

Let’s take a closer look.

Electric Double Oven Range

With this double oven range space is no longer a problem because it has the largest capacity oven in its class. It also comes with some special features I do not have on the oven I’m using now. Some of the features I like most are:

Easy, Quick Cleaning: I have never liked the awful job of cleaning an oven using those horrible-smelling oven cleaners. With this oven that is no longer a problem and that’s one thing I like most about it. According to the description of this oven, it can easily be cleaned in only 10 minutes without cleaners with fumes. All we would have to do to clean this over is spray the oven interior with water, press “Easy Clean” and then in 10 minutes simply wipe away any leftover grime. It sounds too easy to be true.

Five Cooktop Elements: The five cooktop elements allow us to match the element size to the various sizes of our cookware. The 3200-watt cooktop elements are also the most powerful and can deliver the fastest boil, which sounds good to me. I like anything that saves time.

Double Oven: I’m not sure how I would like a double oven but it sounds like this oven is bringing us into a new generation, like the old TV show called “The Jetsons.” Remember some of the mind-boggling “space-age” technology presented on that show? Well, this new large range moved the heating element from the bottom of the oven to the back wall “for optimal heat distribution.” The upper-oven capacity is 3 Cu. Ft. and the lower-oven capacity is 4.3 Cu. Ft for a total oven capacity of 7.3 Cu. Ft. The overall height is 47.28 inches, the width is 29.93 inches and the depth is 28.94 inches. The voltage is 240 and it has 40 Amps.

The history of the oven range

According to my research, Sir Benjamin Thompson, an active scientist and prolific inventor, invented the modern kitchen range in the 1790s. However, it wasn’t until June 30, 1896, that William Hadaway was issued the first patent for an electric oven.

The Carpenter Electric Heating Manufacturing Company invented an electric oven in 1891, and an electric stove was exhibited at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893. It greatly surprises me that the first electric ranges go back that far because it wasn’t until the 1930s that electric stoves gained in popularity. Although electric ovens were invented in 1896, they were not widely used in homes until the practical application of electricity improved in the late 1920s and they have come a long way since then. Today, this technology has been taken even further with stainless steel, double wall ovens, electric ranges and even microwave ovens.

The bottom line

If we need a new electric range, DealDash.com is a great place to shop for one. Best of all, it will even be delivered free of charge to the winner’s front door.

Shop 5-Star Rated Products

One thing I love about DealDash.com is that we can see product reviews and read what other customers have to say about the various items before we start shopping.

We can learn valuable information about the products on DealDash by reading reviews. Sometimes previous winners of a product will say if an item runs too small or too large and what they like or do not like.

Before we start shopping, it is also a good idea to read the product descriptions. By taking a few minutes to read this information first, we are far less likely to get something we do not want to keep. Returning items takes a lot more time than reading about them.

I thought it might be good to write about some products that received a perfect 5.0 rating out of a possible 5.0. Those are the auction items everybody loves most.

So let’s take a look at some of them.

Desktop Radio Scanner

This Desktop Radio Scanner has a 5.0 overall customer review but it’s a fairly new item and has only two reviews so far. It has a BIN of $120.00. I’ve never had one so I had no idea how they work. However, it sounds like a useful item to have.

According to the description, this is “a 200-channel scanner that lets you listen to FM radio bands and can be categorized into 10 separate memory banks.” It also offers the convenience of “one-touch searches of marine, fire/police, air, ham and weather frequencies.”

One of the previous winners wrote “The weather station is great!”

Seven Speed Hand Mixer

This black Seven-Speed Hand Mixer is a real winner. It still has an overall 5.0 rating based on a total of 23 customer reviews. This is almost unheard of after getting that many reviews because we can usually expect to find at least one hard-to-please shopper among a whole bunch of happy ones. That’s just life. Yet, not a single shopper found anything wrong with this mixer and that speaks volumes about the quality of this product. It just blows my mind.

Some features of this hand blender includes a 220-watt motor, a swivel cord, extra-long dishwasher safe beaters with a beater injection lever and is built to North American electrical standards. One thing that confuses me a little is that while it says it is a 7-speed hand mixer but in the description it says it has 8-speed options.

This outstanding mixer has the reasonable BIN of $80 so if we don’t win it, most of us could afford to buy it and get all of our bids back free. So this hand mixer appears to be an all-around winner. I just might shop for it myself!

A great electronics bundle

This bundle of a name brand Wi-Fi pad, plus high-quality wireless headphones has a customer rating of 5.0 and customer reviews do not get higher than that. However, it is a fairly new bundle auction, so it only has one review so far. It has a BIN of $999.00.

The purple WiFi pad is 5 to 64 GB and the headphones are wireless and noise canceling. For more details, see the auction description.
