Did you ever wonder what it takes to submit a winning photo on DealDash.com?

Let’s take a look at some of the things we can do to take an outstanding photo that could win the “Photo of the Week” contest and get rewarded with 1,000 free bids.

Good Lighting

To take a great photo, we might make sure we have good lighting so the photo will not come out too dark or out of focus. We can often get the extra light we need by turning on some lights or opening some curtains. If we turn on lights and take the photo directly into the light, it can cause light spots and we do not want that to happen. Light spots can usually be prevented by standing in a different place. Sometimes we need to move around and take the photo from different angles to get the best results.

Close Up Photos

Distracting backgrounds that takes the viewers eyes away from the main subject we want to include in the photo is what we might call “noise.” To avoid a distracting background, the photographer should not stand too far away from the winner with the winning product. It is usually best to get a tight, close-up photo of just the winner with their product, nothing else.

Happy Faces

The winner should have a happy and/or excited expression on their face. The subject’s facial expression should not look as if he or she is attending a funeral. Winning a product at a bargain price should be a happy event and the photo should depict that.

Be Creative

Do not be afraid to get creative. Instead of taking a photo of the winner just holding the item he or she won, perhaps you could take a photo of the winner actually using the item. Action shots are often more interesting to look at. Think of different ways to take the photo that will make it stand out from the usual static shot.

Save Money, Get Free Bids

One of the best ways to save money when shopping on DealDash.com is by getting free bids. Shoppers on DealDash can get free bids in many different ways.

Shopping Daily

By shopping on DealDash every day, customers can win up to 15 free bids. For each day we open the site and place a minimum of one bid, we automatically receive free bids, starting with just a few until we reach a maximum of 15.

If we want to keep our daily free bids, however, we must make sure we open the site within the same 24-hour window each and every day. I have such a crazy schedule that I often lose my daily free bids. When I fail to check in the same time every day, it starts all over again. Do not make the same mistake. To get the maximum free bids every day, it is best to keep a set schedule to ensure you do not miss that 24-hour window.

Submit a photo

If we submit a photo with an auction product worth $200.00 or more, we can get up to 350 free bids. All we have to do is take a clear, close-up photo with the product we won, along with some basic information like our name, the name of the item, the Buy It Now price and how many bids we used to win it. We can also add a brief comment about how we felt about winning it. Then submit the photo by email to: [email protected].  DealDash customers are allowed to submit up to one photo per week.

Earn Time on the Clock

Every time we place a bid in any auction on DealDash, we earn up to 10 seconds on the clock. If we look on the bottom left-side of our computer screen, we will see a green line. Every time we place a bid, our time line moves to the right. Once it gets all the way to the right, we will win free bids. How long it takes for our time line to move all the way to the right and how many free bids we receive depends on what level we are at. The higher the level, the longer it takes, but the more bids we receive. Every time our green time line gets to the end, we move up a level.

Bid Wizards

Are you a Bid Wizard on DealDash.com?

Bid Wizards instinctively know where to be and when to be there. Bid Wizards are shoppers who consistently win auctions on DealDash using a minimal number of bids. Bid Wizards win great bargains because they have developed bidding strategies that work.

Let’s face it. Everyone can win auctions if they have plenty of bids to place into BidBuddy. It does not take skill to win auctions if we are rich enough to buy hundreds or thousands of bids.

Bid Wizard Rules

Of course the fewer bids we use to win auctions on DealDash, the fewer bids we have to buy. Therefore, Bid Wizards conserve bids by doing the following:

  • Check the Winners’ List to see which auctions are selling for the least amount and for the fewest number of bids and then focus on winning those auctions.
  • Always place a small number of bids at the beginning of the auctions we most want to win. We never know when an auction might close early and that’s when we want to be there.
  • Place more than one bid in auctions that have the fewest number of competitors.
  • Avoid bidding in the same auctions with power bidders who consistently bid over the value of the auction products.
  • Look at the closing cost of the last seven winners and figure out the cost the auction usually closed at. Save bids until the auction gets to that “average” winning amount.
  • Save the bulk of our bids until the auction gets down to the last two or three serious bidders.

By following these rules, we could become Bid Wizards, too!
