Christmas is not far away and it’s a good idea to do our shopping early. 

DealDash.com is a good place to start. I see a few auction items that would make wonderful Christmas gifts for the entire family. Best of all, we have the opportunity to win these items at a bargain price while having fun at the same time.

Wow! This Table Tennis (Ping Pong) game with a BIN of $610 brought back so many wonderful memories of playing it with my brothers and sisters. However, back in my younger days we called it Ping Pong. I was one of 14 kids, so we were too poor to afford to buy a nice official gaming table like this one. Instead we had to use our long dining room table but the best part was that I never ran out of having enough players because I always had plenty of brothers and sisters to play the game with me.

So far, this new item has only one review by a former winner – a 5.0 out of a possible 5.0 and ratings never get any better.

Dartboard Cabinet

A few years ago, I won a dartboard game that I still have hanging on a wall in my house. I soon learned I needed a protective cover on the surrounding wall where it’s hanging to prevent the wall from getting full of dart holes when bad players completely miss the dartboard. Other than that, it’s a really fun game that the entire family from about age 8 and up can enjoy playing. 

However, this dartboard with a BIN of $88 is a step up from the one I won some years ago. This dartboard includes LED lights, six steel-tip darts and flights, as well as a marker with an eraser which would make a wonderful addition to anyone’s game room. The cabinet, which measures 40-inches long by 4.375 inches wide by 24.635-inches high, requires four AA batteries that are not included.

Are you interested in shopping  for your children or grandchildren? 

It’s not too early to start our holiday shopping  and DealDash.com has some auctions that would make excellent gifts for children. I decided to highlight a few of them.

Raincoats for Children

These raincoats for kids have a BIN of $85 and comes in various sizes. We must check the size chart in the auction description to make sure we are shopping  for the right size. The size of the one I’m looking at now is 98/104. If we look at the size chart provided in the auction description it will give us the  specific measurements for the chest,  hip, sleeve and back length.

Nothing could be better for a child right now than a bright yellow rain coat for easy visibility in low light – at least in the area where I’m living. That’s right. I live in the rainy area of Washington state  and we are now in the rainy season where dry summer lawns have  already turned into bright green grass again.

Not only will this waterproof raincoat  keep children dry, but the reflective bright yellow color will also help to keep them safe. According to the auction description, these raincoats for kids also features a detachable hood to protect them from the rain and wind. They also have pockets with push buttons. The soft cotton/polyester lining feels comfortable against their skin.

Because this is a fairly new auction item, it only has about three customer reviews so far, but they all gave this raincoat and overall rating of 5.0 out of a possible 5.0 and ratings never get better than that. 

On Nov. 11, this raincoat sold at 73 cents and the winner paid a total of only $3.13 including the cost of the 12 bids placed.

Riding Scooter

If you would prefer to give your child or grandchild a toy, DealDash has an auction for us to shop for that, too.

This riding scooter  has a BIN of $480. Adult assembly is required, but a previous winner said it’s “very easy to put together.” This scooter  has rounded-edge handles and 4 rubber-lined wheels and is made out of Beech wood, basswood and plywood. It’s made for children 18 months  and older and has a weight limit of 66 pounds. The dimensions are 18.5 inches by 8 inches by 15 inches.

While testing their mobility, riding toys like this help toddlers strengthen their legs and fine-tune their motor skills.

Based on a total of 13 reviews from previous winners, this “keep on rolling’” scooter received an overall customer rating of 4.98 out of a possible 5.0. 

The three previous winners only used a total of 105 bids, 39 bids and 50 bids to win it.

The bottom line

It’s time to start doing some holiday shopping and DealDash.com is a good  place to start.

In case you are new to shopping on DealDash.com I decided to write a blog with some guidelines that you might find helpful.

Do this before placing your first bid!

Before placing your bids into the automated bidder, BidBuddy, it’s a good idea to read the entire auction description, including the reviews and feedback provided by previous winners. If you find anything confusing that might need some clarification, go to the bottom of the Home Page, click on the big yellow button and contact a customer support representative. I guarantee they will be more than  happy to answer your questions. I have been a customer on DealDash since 2012 and they have always provided the best customer service I have ever received.

Be mindful of product sizing

For example, one product up for auction at the time of this writing includes a set of 4 medium-sized waffle knit men’s golf shirts in various colors. They have a BIN of $100. 

After 42 customer reviews, several previous winners wrote the size of these shirts runs really large and one customer who usually wears a large shirt wrote he went down to a medium size which fit him just fine. However, another customer wrote the “size is accurate” and one wrote “the size is perfect.” While many previous customers mentioned how happy they were with the quality of the shirts, they do not all agree with the sizing, so who should we believe? 

Perhaps the best thing to do is to go by the specific measurements of the shirts, which DealDash provided in the auction description. According to that chart, the medium size measures 21.5 inches in the chest with a sleeve length of 20.25 inches and a body length of 29.5 inches. If you still are not sure, feel free to contact customer service. 

Be aware of the rules and if there are exceptions

It’s also important to pay close attention to exceptions to DealDash rules. For example, it is against DealDash policy to list or resell any of our winning auction products on eBay or other resale places. Of course, we are always free to give our winning products away as gifts to family members or friends. This auction is unlike normal auctions on DealDash where reselling is strictly forbidden. An Offload Auction, however, makes an exception to this “no reselling” policy. Let me give you an example.

As of this writing, DealDash  has 727 Sonic Facial Cleansers up for auction with a BIN of $109.050. This Offload Auction is exempt from the resale restriction. In this particular case, the winners of this DealDash auction are granted permission to resell the items in this lot. At first, I was shocked when I saw the BIN price listed, but when I realized it included 727 of these products then the BIN price is not so bad. If we do the math by checking the normal value of each Sonic Facial Cleaner and then take that price times 727 of them, then we can know the winner will probably come out ahead.

We must also pay attention to auctions that we “cannot exchange for (free) bids.”

I have used this brand of makeup and I was surprised  how well it lasts all day. After 56 customer reviews, this blush received an overall rating of 4.9 out of a possible 5.0 which says a lot about the quality of this product.

Lip and Cheek Stick Bundlev(Set of 10)

Some lipsticks I’ve used in the past rub off too easily. This brand does not, and I love the vibrant colors. With 10 shades to choose from we can match the shade to what we are wearing for the day, too. This auction win includes two each of five colors of the Lip and Cheek sticks: Dusk, Hibiscus, Lace and Pinot. 

For people with sensitive skin, it could be important to know the ingredients used: Isododecane, Ceresin, Microcrystalline Wax, Bees Wax, Mineral Oil, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Squalane, Silica, Dimethicone, Tocopheryl Acetate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben. This auction has a BIN of  $190 and is obviously a popular auction that usually sells high. However, some previous winners got it at an outstanding bargain price. Some of  the best deals so far are: 

• Oct. 16, this auction sold at 6 cents and the winner paid a total of 43 cents including the cost of the 2 bids placed; 
• Oct. 23, this auction sold at 12 cents and the winner paid a total of 66 cents including the cost of the 3 bids placed; and 
• Oct. 29, this auction sold at 6 cents and the winner paid a total of 66 cents including the cost of the 3 bids placed.

Eyeshadow Bundle (Set of 12)

This eye-shadow has a BIN of $204 and comes in a bundle of 12 shades of Almond, Bone, Breeze, Brownie, Champaigne, Coal, Haze, Lagoon, Majestic, Sage Thunder and Violet.

After 42 customer reviews, this bundle of 12 eyeshowdows received an overall rating of 4.92 out of a possible 5.0, which is extremely high. It might be a good idea to go to the auction listing and read what the customers have to say about it.
